WAEC Certificate: Court Throws Out Buhari’s Application To Stop Case

It will be recalled that there were claims by online handlers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the Nigerian Army  located President Buhari’s “missing certificate” after the elections.

According To The Trent, However, there is still no official statement by the Nigerian Army up till this day corroborating claims that the certificate has been found.

The new defence minister appointed by Buhari had derided the leadership of the army during the election period for the certificate saga, but still failed to produce the result. Human Rights groups have demanded that the defence minister produced the president’s WAEC certificate.

We Are Missing You Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan – Nigerians lament

Nigerians have had to weigh their options, with some seeking alternatives, following the recent report of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration failing to  pay special allowance to security operatives attached to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to the report, the development is causing dissatisfaction among the security personnel. Prior to when the present administration came into power, all the security agents at the Villa under former President Goodluck Jonathan enjoyed the allowance up until March, 2015, while his administration left those of April and May, 2015, unpaid.

Some Nigerians have aired their views on the rather controversial issue, below are their thoughts. Stanley Nnabuagha said:
“Some say I rely on luck, but was it luck that got rid of fuel queues, revived our textile industries, rescued our banking sector, ensured total radar coverage for Nigeria, is reviving our rail infrastructure or expanded the economy by over 8% making Nigeria the 4th fastest growing economy in the world?
Those are the result of hard work. Only hard work can make Nigeria work – GEJ”
Onyebuchi Nwafor said: “We’re missing you the immediate past president, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the one and only true democratic president this country ever had, the silent achiever.”
Irem Kelechi attempted hitting President Buhari and the APC below that belt with his statement.
He said: “And he said he is not a one chance president? Keep promising Nigerians. All promises cancelled (APC).”
According to Emmanuel Tom, “Those who voted for Buhari, have more now to regret”. However, some other Nigerians did not see the situation as one that should be yardstick for comparing Jonathan and Buhari.

Some even went as much as sighting the trending issue of the missing Chibok girls that were abducted about 2-years ago. They claimed that the incident occurred under the watch of Jonathan and as reports have it, it was a lack of interest on the part of the immediate past administration that made the situation linger this long.

The present APC government still has some time to prove themselves worthy of the votes that brought them into power, do you think they would deliver? Would they out-perform the PDP administration that had been in power for about 16 years?

Let us know your thoughts on this very contentious issue.

Here is My Scorecard For 10-Month in Office – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday took stock of his performance for the past 10 months at the helm and concluded that he has effectively charted the course to tackle the myriad of problems bedevilling the nation.

Addressing members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, he cited the following:

- The significant progress recorded in ensuring the security of lives and property particularly in the troubled North-East geo-political zone as a milestone recorded during the period.

- Resolve to implement the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which has put N3 trillion in government kitty as a key dividend of his drive to block leakages in the polity, stated that the N3 trillion would surely come handy in the implementation of this year’s N6.07 trillion worth budget.

- “On the economy, the fall of oil prices after Nigeria has made itself a mono-economy is a disaster. I wonder why people could not believe that in Nigeria, about 27 of 36 states have difficulty in paying basic salaries of their workers. If from 1999 to at least 2003, oil is above $100 per barrel and an export of about two million barrels per day, how come Nigeria failed to make some arrangement to cushion the effect of a probably volatile oil market?”

- “The fight against corruption: the gains are clear, the era of impunity is beginning to disappear from our land. Even from reading the papers, social media, critical as they may be, virtually every Nigerian today now accepts that corruption was perhaps, the worst affliction that this nation has ever suffered from. And of course, finally, the cost of governance is down. So, even with the lean resources, it is clear that all over the nation, from the federal level to the state level, we will be able to do more with less.”
